Southern Wood Energy Ltd was incorporated in 2008 with a sole purpose to be a market leader in supplying wood fuel in the South.

Along with local tree surgeons and foresters we utilise all timber and wood that would other wise go to waste and turn it into high grade quality wood chip (G30, G50, and G100 &/or new spec P16, P45, P63 & P100), pellets and logs for local and national markets. Since trading began we have become very reputable within the sector and have supplied in excess of 100,000 tonnes of wood chip for heat and CHP usage.

We produce and supply wood chip at varying degrees of moisture content dependant on the customers’ requirements. In addition we can screen this chip to provide a higher quality chip and use the fines to produce 6mm or 8mm pellets which are suitable for Wood Fuel, Horse Bedding and Cat Litter. Quality hard wood is sourced too and used for seasoned/kiln dried logs which we supply in m3 bags or in bulk.

We can also supply wood chip and root material for Biofilter & Landscaping requirements

Southern Wood Energy have experience in every part of the supply chain and therefore we understand why it is essential that the quality of the product is correct.

With the introduction of the Governments RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive), we are now also offering ourselves as a Biomass ESCo.

In September 2010 we obtained grant funding through South West RDA, with Defra as the Managing Authority which has enabled us to purchase new machinery. Please see our ‘RDPE Funded’ page for full details
